Rosa Luckow studies Fine Arts with Olaf Nicolai at the Akademie der Bildenden Künste Munich and with Ari Benjamin Meyers at the Kunstakademie Duesseldorf.
The formation and transformation of meaning and knowledge, the contrast between the private and the public sphere and implicit knowledge and interpersonal communication are themes of her artistic practice. She works with site-specific and context-sensitive approaches across various media, engaging both visual and auditory perception.

She is part of the founding and organizing team of KOIR, an experimental, process-driven academy choir at Kunstakademie Düsseldorf and co-organizes the student lecture and workshop series Jour Fixe at AdbK Munich. She is also involved in the nonprofit, multifunctional project and publication space Neu Workshop/Jetzt and co-organized the Munich-based online and community radio Radio 80000 from 2017 to 2023. Here, she worked with institutions such as the HDK, the Lothringer 13 Halle in Munich and documenta fifteen in Kassel to develop new listening environments for experimental sound.

rosi is an experimental live music/band project, open in its ensemble and outcome, evolving since 2021.

The music is based on collective improvisation, incorporating non-musical noises and the experimental use of instruments. Instead of central control, the aim is to let individually crafted improvisations interact both against and with each other. Participants improvise independently yet in relation to one another. Elements that initially appear incompatible gradually form connections, become interesting, and dissolve again, only to be sought anew. The ear gradually adapts to the acoustic structure and foundational noise level, uncovering patterns, shifted rhythms, or melodies within.

rosi was awarded the "Leonard und Ida Wolf-Gedächtnispreis für Musik 2024" and has performed at Bethanien / Berlin, FFT / Duesseldorf, and Kunstverein München, Favorit Bar, and Lothringer 13 Halle in Munich, Kapitel Bollwerk / Bern and Brautone / Zurich.

As rosi96 she runs the radio show rosi96.de on Radio 80000 and puts on DJ sets that focus on diverse, dub-oriented, often sharp and shifted rhythms. She combines these with experimental rock, punk, noise, folk or anything else she comes across during her research. She has played various clubs and cultural spaces like IFZ / Leipzig, Paloma Bar / Berlin, Blitz Club / Munich, Pal / Hamburg and was guest at NTS / London, Kiosk Radio / Brussels.
